For this project, students were prompted to show off all the skills we have learned from conceptual thinking, design,
layout, illustration and most importantly, Photoshop. From a supplied list of Photoshop challenges, I chose to create a
‘Fairy Tales Can Come True’ Windex Ad Campaign. The challenge was to create a realistic-looking image of a known fairy tale,
so I used Cinderella’s famous glass slipper as the perfect subject for some Photoshop Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.

PROCESS

To create this ad campaign, I used a 3D Adobe Dimension model of a high-heeled shoe, added some starry elements, and changed the material to glass. I then placed the 3D model into my Photoshop composition, along with an image of a Windex bottle, and created an ambient scene around the subjects. I adjusted colours, added shadows and highlights, and created depth. I also added shimmer and glitter to add a whimsical and magical effect. The headline ‘No Streak Left Behind’ is a play-off of Cinderella’s slipper being left behind at the ball in the classic Fairy Tale. This subject and headline play nicely with the glass cleaning product being sold. I also created a web banner for the Windex website using the same imagery as the magazine advertisement.
All mockups were created by me from sourced images.
